KITCHEN ACCESSORIES – aprons, oven gloves, oven cloths and tea towels. Pure cotton or flax fibre blends, three colourways. All hand decorated with needle felted designs of elephants and giraffe. The designs use scrap wool from our production process

A new BABY PET – a DONKEY!

Catch Nuno’s SOCCER BALL ART…

Canal Walk, Cape Town, is exhibiting two group artworks from Nuno – SOCCER FLOWER and ZULU SOCCER.  With a great deal of effort (and laughter, as we had two balls explode because of our ill treatment – don’t ask me what would have happened if someone had kicked them!), we covered two out of the five we maltreated with felt… Then we embroidered on them, painstakingly. One objected as well (or someone stuck a pin into it?) and when it came back from the artisan, it was well, deflating.  So there was more jokes and laughter, about you should exhibit the deflated ball AFTER FIFA, not before! So we had to do some first aid to help it retain its shape … and breathe a sigh of relief as we delivered it – Just in Time!

Design Indaba 2010

And NUNO was at Design Indaba 2010, which resulted in new customers from Denmark, Sweden, France and UK, and welcome visits from ‘old’ customers from SA and abroad.

Barely a breath or two after Design Indaba in Cape Town, and NUNO was at SARCDA in Johannesburg. The response to NUNO’s new gypsy colours and animal egg cosies was phenomenal! And artisans are being kept busy with orders for the new big arums and the vegetables, believe it or not (and we thought we had designed them for an exhibition!
